Training & Development

Sammamish Little League recognizes the value that training can be in the development of its players, especially those focusing on the core baseball and softball skills. We are not resourced to extensively fund these type of activities but we do our best to identify those offered by local, trusted organizations and try to partner with them to offer their services at discounted rates for our members.

As we’re made aware of such opportunities, we forward that information to SLL families through our email newsletters and in postings on this site and on our Baseball and Softball pages on Facebook.

Sammamish Little League endorses the following local baseball skill development programs and clinics:

For information on individual clinics held in partnership with the league, see the sections below. Registration links accompany each clinic, or you can view all registration links on our Registration page.

Baseball Positive Partnership

Sammamish Little League is proud to partner with Baseball Positive to offer quality, professional trainings and camps and clinics at discounted rates. Over the past three years, Baseball Positive has become our most trusted training partner as founder Mark Linden and his team have dedicated themselves to the development of youth baseball. Learn more about Mark’s unique approach to coaching youth by visiting the Baseball Positive website.

Winter Skills Classes @ Skyline HS Batting Barn

Attention SLL Parents and Coaches!  Help your child get a jump on improving their batting and pitching skills for the 2018 Season.  Mark Linden of Baseball Positive, who runs the Coach Training Programs in Feb and March, leads the classes. In these classes, players improve their skills, increase their confidence, and retain what they learn.  Kids excel in these programs because the teaching uses language that is meaningful to them, follows a systematic, building block approach and provides the most important factor in skill development - massive quality repetitions.Skills instruction will be taught for both Batting (for Baseball and Softball) and Pitching (for Baseball).

Cost:  $85.00 per player (no charge for Coaches or Parents)

Eligibility:  Players ages 8-12

Each participating coach and parent receives a Coaching Manual that includes all program content, including video and pictures to illustrate key points. Teaching good fundamentals to kids becomes quite elementary by following the Baseball Positive approach.

Coaches and Parents who do not have a child in the program are also welcome and invited to participate and learn the content.
